RAINBOW WARRIOR- A SONNET
I've marched beneath the colors of this flag
In service of equality for all
To shouts of "God hates sinners!", "Dyke!", and "Fag!"
And still, I lift the rainbow banner tall.
For though I am a solitary soul,
I know that we are none of us alone
And in our multitudes we are made whole-
Beneath these colors many stand as one.
The rainbow is a bright and welcome spark
Red, orange, yellow, blue and purple, green
To those of us still living in the dark
A precious moment in which we are seen.
For though I wear these colors on my skin,
The brightest rainbow is the one within.
