Rainbow Kiss

By C. S. Whatley

By Charli WhatleyPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Her lips were dressed in red, yet naked, mine found them,

Orange soaked tongues laced with liquor she found in her livingroom cabinet,

The summer sun created a yellow glow in her hair as the wet grass stained our ankle socks green,

Our knuckles blue from how fiercely we held onto one another’s sighs of desperation and relief,

And whilst indigo stretched her arms across the sky the clouds dipped to a violet violence,

and we watched our chests rise and fall in equal heaps of happiness and shame,

Knowing our flesh was deceiving you all from seeing the rainbow that existed underneath and around our insides,

And in that moment, under the cloak of darkness, we didn’t care for anything

- except for one another.
