Rain Drops

The Ebb and Flow of Life

By Dan R FowlerPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Rain Drops

On window panes splatter yet another,

Mystery wrapped in a watery cover.

From dawn until dusk if it must,

Carrying to me an answer true and just.

It’s within these rare timeless moments,

I consider my life’s purpose, its components.

For to live without a purpose is to not live at all,

But walk about aimlessly, just waiting for one’s call.

The rain that beacons me to come,

To surrender all I have, but no music I strum.

No melodies or lyrics or rhymes to recite,

Only soulful thoughts I hold within very tight.

First one then another, the raindrops collapse,

Resembling my tears that fall upon my lap.

For life is passing too quickly for some,

Trails of crying dreams of a wayward bum.

Is it this way for all one might ask,

To fall and get up, just to fall again alas.

Then take me my angel to my final place,

Transcending life’s illusions, beacons me with grace.
