The Sonnet of Shadows Challenge

Riding around listening to the car radio

Tears falling like rain

Doesn't he know I love him so

I feel like I will never be the same

*****

Roy Orbison's song singing, " It's Over", on the airway

My tears are blurring my vision and I can hardly see

I am wondering who will pay

Why did he fall out of love with me

*****

My memory slipping back to "Pretty Woman" walking down the street

I begin to hum

"Pretty Woman", kind I'd like to meet

Maybe my life has just begun

*****

I was only eighteen at the time of the tears

My life has seen many more tears through the years

Sonnet
