Radha and Krishna

The epic love story of Hinduism

Hinduism has many gods,

and Krishna is a major one.

Let me share a slice

from his immortal saga.

Krishna grew up in Gokul,

as a herder of cattle.

He sat by the river Yamuna,

beneath the kadamba tree,

draped my kunjalata vine,

and played his flute,

enchanting all.

Radha came to fetch water,

captivated by the flute

she lingered there,

forgetting time,

the sun set,

she was in haste,

but hard for her to leave.

Krishna later became a king

had many wives,

never married Radha.

But Radha and Krishna love

remains the eternal,

epic love story of Hinduism.
