About the Creator

Kristen Balyeat

Words fly to me on the wind, bump into me as I'm strolling the city, splash me in the face while I rest by the river, and shake me awake in the middle of the night—I’m humbly one of the vessels they use to come to life.

Also, i love you:)

This is an awesome example of hsiang shen - the ‘mutual arising’ order of nature where cause and effect are not sequential, but simultaneous. One cannot exist without the other, just as yin cannot exist without yang. ☯️🌺🐝❤️

Damn, is there anything you cannot do well? That’s a great photo. I’m loving this series and the magic of it. We can learn so much from observing nature. My favorite part: “v o l u p t u o u s intoxications give f l i g h t to a p r e d e s t i n e d embrace” This entire poem feels like a blissful surrender. The bees just following their destiny as it welcomes them with open arms. How great the world would be if we all did the same, pollinating through pursuit of what intoxicates us in the most natural way.

  • unfurl languages of aromatic delight streams of ancient codes. I read these lines so many times! It was so magnificent! Loved both your poem and the photo!

  • A dusting of pollen, sweet drink of nectar, pistil & stamen producing seed, bees producing honey, what's not to love? Romance all around.
