Quiet Quiet Piggy

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

He said “quiet, quiet piggy” with a smirk and a sneer,

To a voice that was strong, to a woman who dared.

Every word drips contempt, every phrase cuts deep,

But we rise from the silence, we refuse to weep.

Pre-Chorus

You can try to diminish, you can try to control,

But the louder you shout, the more truth we’ll unfold.

Chorus

We won’t be quiet, we won’t be small,

Your insults won’t break us, we’ll stand through it all.

Every “piggy” you throw, every name that you call,

We turn it to fire, we’re breaking the wall.

Verse 2

He degrades with a pattern, it’s the same old refrain,

Women dismissed, reduced, pushed into shame.

But history remembers the voices that fight,

Not the bullies who tremble at women’s light.

Pre-Chorus

You can try to belittle, you can try to deny,

But the chorus of women will rise to the sky.

Chorus

We won’t be quiet, we won’t be small,

Your insults won’t break us, we’ll stand through it all.

Every “piggy” you throw, every name that you call,

We turn it to fire, we’re breaking the wall.

Bridge

For every journalist silenced, for every voice ignored,

We carry the stories, we sharpen the sword.

Your misogyny echoes, but it won’t define,

The strength of our voices, the power is mine.

Final Chorus

We won’t be quiet, we won’t be small,

Your insults won’t break us, we’ll stand through it all.

Every “piggy” you throw, every name that you call,

We turn it to fire, we’re breaking the wall.

Outro

So shout if you must, try to drown out the sound,

But women are rising, we won’t be bound.

Your words are a weapon, but ours are a flame,

We’ll burn through the silence, we’ll never be tamed.
