Quiet settled on the old house, I watched from the doorway, an empty room, a pretty door
Us, it was perfect for us, a fancy backsplash, hardwood to clack on, accents of yellow
A new adventure began, together we carved moments into space and time, leaving scars on the hardwood
It soon became a home, I loved arriving to your presence, our energies bolstering this space
Never was the same without you, I still feel your echoes in this space, haunting but comforting
Too scared to move on from the past, too many moments block my vision of the future

This poem is like pale sunlight coming through a window but not doing anything to warm an empty room on a cold winter day. Sad but beautiful writing, well done
