Extreme fear enticed by alignment!
Celestial bodies cause mischief -
Light disappears and chaos descends!
Imminent destruction's arrival!!
Palpable breath-holding in darkness...
Silence from Nature. Motionless. Cold.
End of the world! And then the moon moves.

What use to strike fear into the hearts of human beings now induces such delight. According to Stephen Colbert they've declared a state of emergency where they are expecting over a million visitors to Niagra Falls.
I imagine that's how it felt like before we knew what it was. I can image it would be terrifying.
I like how the rapid-fire exclamations make things intense right off the bat, and so the short, sharp sixth line sits nicely in contrast to them. Panic, and then stillness. "And then the moon moves."- excellent closer Rachel!
Imagine if the moon doesn't move. I don't want it to move. Hehehehehe. Loved your Acrostic!
This captures the terror of the ancients! Great work as always. Loved celestial bodies cause mischief!
Rd - So who you, sarcastic! It's catchy isn't it. Jb
All the swelling thrill “and then the moon moves”. Great work, Rachel! Really captures the minutiae of the experience
