Snow crunches under my boot,
I continue on.
There’s a well traveled path beside me,
where snow has been tamped down by many feet.
I take a new path,
Looking behind me,
I see the path that only I’ve taken.
I realize,
Even in snow,
Many people are reluctant,
Perhaps afraid,
To make a new path.
Perhaps this is my role,
I feel no fear,
And so I walk without knowing,
What lies beneath the snow.
The world needs people to create a new path as much as the world needs people who will follow a new path until it becomes a trail.
