Purple Reflections on Her Golden Strands

I caught a glimpse of you as I came over the last lip of the dune.

The sun was nestled against the soft line of the horizon,

your golden strands basking in the warmth of that glow;

purple and orange streaks marbling the sky and wrapping themselves around you.

Timeless.

I was filled with envy and longed for the embrace you shared with them.

The air floated around you like sensual steam and stole my breath,

my chest tightening with anticipation as I watched you with aching;

grace and majesty accompanying you as you slowly made your way over the sand.

Breathless.

I knew what power lay hidden in the sand beneath your impressions.

Though I resisted the fierce magnetism you emanated,

you overwhelmed me so quickly and with such ease;

defenseless and desperate for just a touch, I reached out with trembling arms.

Powerless.

I felt a yearning come upon me that was unlike any other before.

Through the long years since our last embrace - only misery,

my existence was left destitute and deprived by your absence;

vividly remembering the vibrant pleasure that your company once brought me.

Thoughtless.

I reach you, wildly abandoning thoughts of what may have been.

Thinking only of the present and of the deep yearning within,

my heart beating wildly as my bare feet touch the sugary sand;

reckless and radiating with passion for the presence I've been missing for so long.

Fearless.

I leap, arms wide open, falling into you with overwhelming thrill.

The years fade away into nothing as our energies merge into one;

your movements I remember clearly as we fall into a familiar rhythm,

and the energy of your embrace fills me with the purest form of ecstasy.

Limitless.
