I asked an AI to translate the name Nilufer into a picture and it gave me a pond with beautiful purple Lotus flowers floating in it.
The name Nilufer means Lotus in Turkish. This all makes perfect sense to me because those Lotus floating are basically unreachable, untouchable. They float and they look pretty but if you try to wade in after them you could drown, or you could destroy their beauty.
Memories are like that. You can think back and visualize the times you held her hand, the walks in the park, riding the ferry, but you can't grab then and bring them back. Those times are gone forever.
So I look at the flowers and think how beautiful they are, how I'd like to touch them but I know I cannot. So they float and I look and remember my own times of floating, of being on the ferry feeding the seagulls, having dinner on the pier by the beautiful Istanbul bridge and even washing dishes with you.
Sometimes things end. They float away in a whole new direction.

This is stunningly beautiful and powerful
That was so deep and wistful. Loved it. That image seemed so magical!
nice
And we may not want them to flat back because we are in new directions ourselves. My Chinese name is lotus. It's a pretty resilient flower!
What a thoughtful and sweet poem
