From across the room
I fell in love at first sight
An old man's face
with the softest heart and fur
Three months later
Tires screeched
The last noise echoed from him
At first, I refused to go on without Willie Joe
As my dad sat with me, refusing to leave me, unconditional love from him
in the purest form embraced me all over
Then I chose to keep moving on
knowing the pain would lesson
Leaving behind the shame as God is in the heavens and chooses our time to die, including Willie's
Perhaps, my Dad is an atheist because he is so close to the higher powers that be. Like my Mom, he has never lied, cheated or stolen. Never drinks, smokes or thinks ill of others.
Mom, my sister, Angie, my hubby and my best friend, Jim.
Their religion never mattered.
But they were my crew, always there when I need them.
When I hugged Angie, I could feel her heart breaking alongside mine.
I woke the next morning, to my Mom calling multiple people to try to either pay my huge loan for the dog or to try to get it forgiven.
Were they all saints and me the only sinner?
They carry me so many times.
As my Dad did in this moment,
the divine came through him
Awareness that my puppy made me laugh again for the first time in half a year.
He had too much love for this world 🌍
Knowing Willie had a short time, he used it to play with every dog, approach every human and even died trying to say hi to a dog across the street.
Full of life.
Excited about everyone
Loved everyone
Since, Earth is a place for unconditional love
proven by the wisdom of my parents
And the playfulness of my short-lived but well-loved puppy
Borrowing some of their strength
I will continue in the footsteps of my father full of wisdom
And my doggy child full of wonder
As above
So below

I love to make people laugh and I love to bring out healthy happy tears.
