Puppies

A haiku

By Seema PatelPublished 7 months ago 1 min read

"Every mother’s instincts

know what is safe for her children,

stray puppies in our garden."

My parents’ backyard was spacious and had a brick boundary. To stray dogs, it seemed like a safe haven. Often, dog mothers would sneak in with their puppies.

While taking walks in the yard, we used to find puppies. My mother, too, fed them when the dog mother was away foraging, and the puppies seemed to be yelping in hunger.

The dog mothers knew it was a safe place. They had likely observed us for days before making the decision to trust their vulnerable puppies to our backyard..

Animals are intelligent and will do anything to protect their offspring.

Be kind to them.

There is nothing like a puppy or a dogs trusting nature that brings out a human's love. Good job.

I've always thought dog mothers seem very intelligent. I love how they always seem to know exactly what to do with their young, even though us humans often seem to struggle.
