PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 17-B / TEMPORARY USE OF FACILITY

SWIM!

By Dagmar GoeschickPublished 16 days ago 1 min read

Attention is hereby given to all residents, visitors, and persons passing through:

An open competition will take place.

Participation is open to all ages, without exception, waiver, or prior distinction.

If you like swimming, this announcement applies to you.

The event is scheduled for next week, Saturday, 10:00 a.m.

Arrival later than the stated time may result in exclusion.

Arrival earlier than necessary will not change the outcome.

All participants must enter the water under their own power.

Floating, hesitating, or remaining on the edge is permitted only briefly.

The edge is not designed for living. It is designed for letting go.

Please be advised:

Water depth varies.

Skill levels vary.

Courage is self-assessed and cannot be refunded.

Lifeguards will be present, identifiable by uniform and silence.

They are trained to observe distress, not doubt.

They cannot swim for you.

They cannot decide when you are ready.

Competition rules will be explained once and not repeated.

The sound system may distort certain words, especially those concerning fear.

If you miss the instructions, you may rely on instinct, memory, or the movements of others.

Spectators are reminded to remain behind the designated boundary.

Cheering is allowed.

Judgment is inevitable.

Comparisons may occur without warning.

Please note:

Winning is not guaranteed.

Losing will not be announced.

Time will be recorded, but it will not explain anything.

Participants are responsible for their own expectations.

Any assumptions left unattended may sink.

In the event of sudden hesitation, panic, or remembering something long forgotten, remain calm.

This is a normal response to water, crowds, and being seen.

By attending, you acknowledge that swimming is never only about swimming.

It is about breath, direction, and the moment when the ground disappears.

This notice will not be posted again.

We will see you next week, Saturday, at 10 a.m.
