I was born and raised in Kenya,
Black is my color,
I am a proud Kenyan,
And this is my loyalty pledge...
I pledge my loyalty to the President and Nation of Kenya My readiness and duty to defend the flag of our Republic. My devotion to the words of our national anthem. My life and strength in the task of our nation's building. In the living spirit embodied in our national motto - Harambee! And perpetuated in the NATIONAL philosophy of peace love and unity.
The Kenyan flag was adopted on 12th December 1963 as the country's flag.
The color black represents the people of the Republic of Kenya.
Red for the blood shed during the fight for independence.
Green for the country's landscape.
White fimbriation was added later to symbolize peace and honesty.
THE KENYAN ANTHEM
(ENGLISH VERSION)
O God of all creation,
Bless this, our land and nation.
Justice be our shield and defender,
May we dwell in unity,
Peace and liberty.
Plenty be found within our borders.
Let one and all arise
With hearts both strong and true.
Service be our earnest endeavor,
And our Homeland of Kenya,
Heritage of Splendor,
Firm may we stand to defend.
Let all with one accord
In common bond united,
Build this our nation together,
And the glory of Kenya,
The fruit of our labor
Fill every heart with thanksgiving.
(KISWAHILI VERSION)
Ee Mungu nguvu yetu
Ilete baraka kwetu
Haki iwe ngao na mlinzi
Natukae na udugu
Amani na uhuru
Raha tupate na ustawi.
Amkeni ndugu zetu
Tufanye sote bidii
Nasi tujitoe kwa nguvu
Nchi yetu ya
Kenya tunayoipenda
Tuwe tayari kuilinda.
Natujenge taifa letu
Ee ndio wajibu wetu
Kenya istahili heshima
Tuungane mikono pamoja kazini
Kila siku tuwe nashukrani.

I loved that you provided what each colour of the flag represents! I also loved the National Anthem!
Lovely, lovely. Pride in self and country is to be applauded. Keep that light ever shining. Your poem is very uplifting.
