Protection
Poem about nature and how symbiotic relationships feel
the ocean sinks and pulls shadows,
Lifting leeching colors as a echoing sieve,
With sparkling jewels of layers,
Icy, sunny, cool, warm
Jade, diamond light,
Blue that reminds me of your deep, calming laugh,
Pulling back your tumbling hair as your laugh lifts from your aching gut,
The deepest, most soulful type of blue,
Littered with stars that foam and trickle
Like the sea mermaid’s grieving tears,
Settling in your eyes.
I can be your Sea anemone
Creeping, softly calling
Wrapping around you like a warm sunny day,
Hiding you from the angry waves that bring in the sharp smiles
And the venomous, angry teeth,
Seeking to separate us,
Muting my winded, pained voice always
Pay attention now, little lemon orange fish,
For my silence is the protection for you, and I’ll gladly pay it,
Though I desperately want to hear your call,
A dream I have had leeched into my brain matter
Like a dream I had my whole life
You awoke in me
