Prism

Afro-indigenous, polyamorous, pansexual mother with a personality disorder refracting light while projecting new colors.

I’ve always been fluid like the blue ripples on the shore,

Adoring the softness of a she,

The firmness of a he,

And the boundlessness of a them.

Gave birth on my bedroom floor,

blood-red stained carpet symbolizing my greatest creations.

Brown bodies emerging from my womb transporting souls from the spiritual to the physical.

A master artist producing masterpieces from thy warm pink flesh, earning beige lightning bolts throughout my body because the storms now embrace my power.

Oh, the challenges of being bold and vibrant in a society that prefers pastels and greys.

I refuse to be reduced to a muted hue when my ancestors range from reddish tan to a dark galactic purple.

Labels are outdated, but instead of choosing “other”, I’d rather embrace my everything.

Afro-indigenous, polyamorous, pansexual mother with a personality disorder refracting light while projecting new colors.

Prism.
