A poem

Kaleidoscopic helter skelter

There goes the applecart

The world and everything in it

Has been lifted, turned and replaced in a new groove

What was certain no longer is

Thrillingly, frighteningly so

But the sun seems to shine a little brighter

And the colours more vibrant

The evidence has not changed,

The interpretation has;

Everything is a portent,

Everything has a double meaning

How did the radio know

That this would be the perfect song?

Could it really be the world

Was laid out for me all along?

Time to grow, time to change,

The shroud I made and wore

Now a discarded chrysalis

I can recall without regret.

I see now that the days I wasted

I was merely waiting for today,

For this moment,

Though I did not guess, and never dreamed.

Every step I took, or choice I made,

Lead me to this happy day,

Where fortune put her in my way,

And showered me in light.

For what this is I will not say,

For fear the naming will change it

But I know. All of me knows.

The tiny hairs on my fingers bend in her direction.
