Primordial

Colors in us

By Renato F.Published 5 years ago 1 min read

Long before today

Sunlight travels

Purposeful

Unfazed by distance

Bent by gravity

Upon arrival

Blesses her inquisitive eye

Bounces back

In blue

Imperceptible

To his eye

It goes unnoticed

Except his soul

Catches a glance

While his heart,

Impeccable drummer,

Herds red blood cells

With a new rhythm

They become connected

By a shared moment

Their story

Repeats, across eons,

In different shades

Their colors

Intertwine

As new life

Springs from two

And we all share

Their ancient colors

Tracing back

To distant stars

And we all carry them on

Genetic hues

Of cyan

And magenta base pairs

Held by twirls

Of yellow backbones

Sprouting

Twisting

Unfolding

Our unique

Three-dimensional color

Just as yours

Mine is unique

And mine sees beauty

In the physics

Of how all colors unfold

In the biology

Of how we capture,

Interpret them

And in the unknown

Of why we do

And I ponder

At the wonder

Of photons

Lightly scratching

Revealing meaning

From a writer’s black ink

Lifting memories

Faded in glossy

Photography paper

All the while

Musical notes

Color my ears
