Pride; The Float

Pride

Pride; The Float

My armour is not for the wary

My perch not for the fainthearted

My perspective may not be forthcoming

For I prefer to observe

And should your halo glow iridescently

I might be lured to saunter over

And even if your aura may shimmer

I might be tempted to blow it out

But I am not so zealous

For in my wholeness, I am already complete

And should you wish to blush

I might steal a kiss

And as we stand on top of this float

The flags waving iridescently

The crowds raucously encouraging us on

The whistles hollering wildly

Come closer for I want to absorb this moment

What a jubilation my love

A tribulation to our salvation

A moment of forgetfulness

And even if the past hurts fleetingly resurface

I know this moment is special

Each day leading to greater healing

A place of wider acceptance

For the love that we generate

Throbbing with such vitality

Breath-taking in its brilliance

Etches this perfect Pride moment
