Born into the luxury of ownership 🪞
Each feature, a foundation. Grab your palette💄correct, perfect that facade
After you've worked some magic, return for an evaluation
Utter disgrace, there's potential, but now look at this face, smeary, off-color
Try smiling once in a while. You look so much prettier when you just smile
Intentions matter. Smiles can be detected with the ears. 👂
Find your happy place and adorn it with the things you love
Utilize the space to the fullest extent
Live in its rigid bounds, and never 👏 forget 👏 to SMILE👏

I wear makeup occasionally, I have lots of bright colors still in my makeup case. My problem isn't with the substance; it's with society's mindset. No matter how you're doing your makeup, there's someone who disagrees with it and feels completely justified in telling you so. This isn't my rage against the beauty industry machine. That would be very different and focused on issues like the release of microplastics into our body and the environment, or the lack of regulation on products that are, at the end of the day, being passively eaten and absorbed through the skin. I think makeup should be for anyone who wants to use it.
As far as my opinion on constantly trying to hide your emotions behind a mask of smiles or anything else, really, toxic masculinity, false piety, it's all bad. I think Meg Ryan said it best in my one and only chick flick pick, French Kiss:
"Happy, Smile, Sad, Frown. Use the corresponding face for the corresponding emotion."
