Pretty Deadly

All that glitters is cold

Cold so brutal

It sears my skin

Surprise assault

To parts exposed.

Exhaled clouds

Float behind me

Leaving tracers

Of where I've been.

Seeking heat,

Rush indoors

Warm oasis, yet

Succumb to shivering.

Inhale warm air deeply,

Gratefully.

Stand at frosted window

To peer outside.

The ground glitters

With icy flashes

Shattered, scattered mirrors,

Reflecting peril.

Some people paint, others dance, and happy people sing. Writing is the white space that allows me to color some moods, move some thoughts, and hum some tunes.
