In this torment unending,
Alone with only my thoughts,
And deep seated longing,
To restore hope wrecked upon the rocks.
Left only to wonder,
What happened to spur it away;
Bereft of any slumber,
Broken heart that feels betrayed.
Desperate for an answer,
To questions gone unheard;
Growing within, a cancer,
Consumptive as black bird.
Screaming into void’s essence,
For any resolution;
Replacing constant silence,
Causing heart’s pollution.
I beg, I plead, I prostrate,
In this final moment,
The answer I await,
Will cease to be a figment.
Only in that way,
Inside this silent glen,
Will darkness finally sway,
So I may breathe again.
About the Creator
Alexei Finch
I’m relatively new to poetry, but it’s quickly become a strong passion of mine. My hope is that anyone who reads my poetry is benefited in some way.
