We speak of the future. Quite a lot, actually.

He dreams up its walls and stairs and chambers that would hold our joy and give space to our imagination. I, in turn, paint and furnish them in soft hues of love and peace and contentment to show that we have arrived. And then we wait for it to materialize, bottling up all our happiness for when we can finally set it free. There. Then.

And now? Now is for waiting.

postponed happiness

the future will build the walls

that our dream foretells
