Post Traumatic Curse

by Mel

By 'Lissa StufflestreetPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

imagine if people cared about me

the way they care to trauma-dump

all their issues onto me.

imagine if people cared about me

the way they expect me to

care about them.

imagine if people put their energies into

proving to me that I was worthy,

rather than putting all that energy into

making me feel as if I was nothing.

maybe I would've learned a way to cope

with the post traumatic curse

that came with my childhood,

rather than learned a way to

bury it deep inside;

waiting for it to eat me up

from the inside out.

imagine.

imagine just how different

my life would've turned out if

people treated me like a human being,

rather than some useless journal

they'd take note in once

before tossing aside with all the rest.
