I hope that a positive note slips into your cup today—
lighting up your world.
Because I won’t be the one to give it anymore.
Not a positive note, a bible verse, a reason to be grateful…
Not an uplifting quote, not the direction of the bright side, nor a smile to say that it’ll get better.
A positive note is a sign of sanity.
And I no longer wish to hold on.
I will smile and say, that it will all be okay…
But I will no longer spread lies to force happiness.
Acceptance and gratitude bring comfort,
It brings mediocracy and settling down.
A positive note brings endless hope,
That everything will somehow work out.
“It will all be okay,” is what I’ll say.
But be sad, be angry, be deranged.
Be kind, be loving, be considerate
To others, to yourself, to the world.
But don’t lie to force a smile,
Don’t lie to force untrue happiness.
Face reality,
Face insanity,
And create a world of magic.
Then, and only then,
Will a positive note arrive.
Humming a melody of greatness
Ensuring that this is why you survived.
