Portrait of a Lady
A Poem from Partly Sage Prose Faerie & Rhyme by JL Thomson

Portrait of a Lady
I could describe her beauty
Or tiny hands and feet
Or eyes enframed in auburn hair
Upon a face petite
I could describe the tasteful way
She clothed her frail frame
Or even just the skill she showed
Playing our worded game
But pictures here are incomplete
I wonder what's inside
No artist but Creator
Could paint the tale she hides
My passion surge surprising
I'm floored by this effect
For scarcely thirty minutes past
Love only knew neglect
Could loves enduring promise
Be born in the unknown?
The choice is made beyond my ken
Begun but not full grown.
