Poppies

Bled

Across the field

And

Violet

Streaked the sky

I want to

Save the world

I want

The beauty

Of this life

Purple rain

Does not exist

Is what the skeptics say

But I have seen

Rainbow clouds

And I believe

In

Purple rain

The things that

I see

When I sleep

The things

I see

When dreaming

They tempt me

And

How

They taunt me

Oh

Such sweet things

I dream of

I see a

World

Where hunger

Leaves

And never comes again

I see a

World

Where when we

Grieve

Eventually

We come to

Mend

These sweetest dreams

Of molten skies

Well

I can almost

Taste them

Those silver mountains

Rise and rise

Crystal castles

Lay unbroken

Call it madness

Call it what

You wish to call

This dream

But I believe

In

Purple rain

Because

Such things

I’ve seen.
