Poof! I'm Outta There!
Here's how I'd disappear and vanish and so can you

Poof! I'm Outta There!
When I disappear and it's time for me to go
I'll give it lots of thought, 'cause I won't be back no mo'
I'll make myself a checklist of all the don'ts and the do's
No clever minds will ever find me by pretending to wear my shoes
I'm not telling anyone else about my plans to leave
I'll hold my hand close to my vest, and my ace card up my sleeve
I'll get out of Dodge just as soon as I can
I'll remove all traces of who I really am
I'll change my initials, my nickname and my name
There's nothing I'll be calling myself that's even remotely the same
I'll change the way I look and smell, the color and style of my hair
And any moles, marks, and identifying tattoos
Will be gone and no longer there
I'll go as far as I can, somewhere I don't like, somewhere that people think I hate
And if anyone starts looking, they'll never think to check, a place I can barely tolerate
I won't change my cell phone, my sim card, or other digital connections
There's no need because I'll be off the grid
When it comes to technology, I'll go in the other direction
Using analog like old school people did
I'll get rid of documents and keepsakes, connecting me to my past
No matter how sentimental it might make me feel
When I disappear and vanish and no longer cease to be
Those things in my past are no longer real
I can't afford to pine away, for things that are no more
And changing habits are important when you vanish
Including what you buy at the store
It's not just enough to cut off family and friends, and disconnect from all your tech
To truly disappear and vanish in thin air, you have to change everything they might possibly check
Don't enjoy the same activities in another city or town, and feel like no one can ever track you down
Don't eat the same food, drink the same wine, or buy the same style of shoes
Avoid going to the dentist and the doctor and keep up with the news
Don't get a job doing what you've always been good at, or something you've always done
Forget your skills and talents and hobbies. Remember you're on the run!
The final thing I know I'd do for those I think might care
I'd give an extra hug and squeeze, then poof! I'm outta there!
