I sit, ankles crossed, at the base of a tree
And ponder the wonders afforded me
I pity those who take it all in stride
Healthy children, a roof overhead
No great riches, but everyone's fed
Accomplishments in which we can take pride
I think of suffering witnessed today
And fools rushing 'round with no time to play
We take for granted we will have tomorrow
But children grow up before we can blink
Time rushes on faster than we think
And it's one thing we really cannot borrow
So letโs take the time to laugh and sing
And ease one another's suffering
Get on our knees and see from a child's view
And while we're there, take time to pray
And be thankful for another day,
For those we love and everything we do
