Poisoned Paradise

A place to house your bones

I can offer you a poisoned paradise -

the tip of the iceberg for my planned disguise:

a grand design veiled in shadow and ichor,

a personality stood on a hair trigger.

If you stay idle too long,

searching for a place within me that you belong,

with one eye trained on an icy rail,

and the other following my scarlet trail -

you will forget why you were entranced

so soon after that first glance,

as all I could ever offer your bones

was a quiet place beneath a rotting headstone.
