Where did you go?

By Susannah Peareth-KinstonPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Friendship exists on a spectrum

We lean in, we lean out, we weaken, we strengthen

Sometimes it’s a reason

A season

Or a lifetime

I guess though, if we are honest- coz it’s once again springtime,

It was like reading a book I was enjoying

And it abruptly being taken off me, thus destroying

Finishing the chapter I was reading and devouring

Or like a really good movie you watch in the cinema, the Dolby blasting

And having to leave because your paramour is gasping

Then being frustrated because you don’t know what happens next, yes?

And it’s just like the old days in the 1990s- with the old VHS

The tape stopped recording off the television

And then you had to wait a year for the commission

Of a VHS tape or a DV disc

It kinda reminds me of that- I am screaming

Like im waiting for the sequel of a Hollywood movie- and its before streaming

When does the sequel come out?

Or the trilogy or the franchise about

A series of misunderstandings and unnecessary calamities

And unfulfilled fantasies….

Susannah Peareth-Kinston

I am a mother of two boys, a librarian and a poet.

I hope to make some poetry connections here and maybe even have it as a side hustle. I do it for the cathartic release I get from writing it.

I write about love, friendship and ADHD.
