Poetry is an art

But no one taught me how to paint

Every line looks more like a squiggle

And my circles look like ovals

My fading looks like a pile of books

And my shading like I colored it up

But I decided to paint anyway

Because poetry is an art

And have this burning zeal inside

That makes my heart thump

So, I sat and started

Though my lines were still crooked

And came out with a beauty

Called modern art

Because poetry is one

But no one taught me how to paint
