Poem
A vivid memory of the first time you saw the ocean.

The Primary Look at the Ocean
Whenever I first saw the sea wide,
Waves kissed the shore in a cadenced tide.
A material of blue, so immense, so profound,
Murmuring insider facts it yearned to keep.
The pungent breeze, a delicate hug,
Daylight moved all over.
Froth clad waves in perpetual movement,
Sang bedtime songs of the limitless sea.
Shoeless strides on brilliant sand,
Following dreams with shaking hand.
The sky and ocean in colors brilliant,
Converged as one in most perfect light.
A second scratched in heart and brain,
An adoration for the ocean, everlastingly laced.
That first hug, so wild, so free —
The sea's spirit turned out to be essential for me.
