Poem: Desire Vs Lust

Fine Line Between Longing and Craving

By Mashhud UsmanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

A In the realm of passion, two forces reside,

Desire and Lust, side by side.

Both ignite the heart, set the soul ablaze,

Yet each in its own distinctive ways.

Desire, a flame that burns with grace,

A tender touch, a warm embrace.

It seeks connection, a bond so deep,

In whispered words and promises to keep.

Lust, a wildfire, fierce and untamed,

A primal urge, unbridled and unnamed.

It craves the flesh, the heat of skin,

A fleeting moment, a carnal sin.

Desire, the longing for a lover's kiss,

A gentle touch, a moment of bliss.

It nurtures love, a bond that grows,

In the heart's garden, a blooming rose.

Lust, the hunger that knows no bounds,

A restless chase, where pleasure abounds.

It feeds on passion, a ravenous beast,

In the shadows, a voracious feast.

Desire and Lust, a dance of fate,

Entwined in passion, they create.

A balance of love, of pleasure and pain,

In the heart's symphony, a sweet refrain.

For in the end, these forces combined,

Shape the love that we come to find.

Desire and Lust, forever entwined,

In the depths of our hearts, forever confined.
