My Letter To The Moon
Dear Moon,
As I see you earlier in the day
I have a few things
I want to say.
First are you really saving sunshine for me?
Will there be extra moments of soleil rays to feel carefree?
Whereas our daylight savings comes to an end
Are you able to give me the hours to spend?
I would like to know
When I will once again have a sun kissed glow?
Can I cash in on more hours of rainbows
Which appear in a clear blue sky?
Or has this been just one big lie?
No offense but although
I enjoy staring at you, Moon,
I don’t like seeing you at four in the afternoon.
So please let me know how this savings will help me
Thanks for your time. I’ll let you be.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
