Play Me A Song
Where angels dance

Rich brown wood hues, edges worn smooth by gentle hands over the ages, the strings taut- the most beautiful music can only come from tension. Without it, the strings would have no ability to sing. The bow , straight and curved, separate yet connected to the voluptuous vessel that it ignites into song.
The violin , on her own, has a small fun voice mimicking cousins like the mandolin, guitar and others. But the bow brings out her magnificence as she’s played, notes linger and swell like a woman’s heart under the moonlight, sending a song that reverberates through a timeless dimension. As the powerful bow glides across the violin’s tightened strings, the tension between the two creates a song to the very angels, souls rise in euphoria at the sound of it. The dance of strings; the violin setting the tone, and the bow obliging her in a swirling tapestry of sweet and joyful strains lifted up to the winds of heaven above. They dance as one, two separate parts joined as one to create a sound like no other. The bow knows that she is more than a vessel, she holds the key to the bow’s very soul’s purpose, for its very existence. Without her, the bow is useless.
Neither are bound to each other. The bow can lend song to any violin, and any violin can elicit song from any bow. As long as they both have the necessary tension, they can create music anywhere for anyone. But this moment in time belongs to them, this bow, this violin. This moment belongs to their music, a moment that can never be taken away, as their strings unite and float to soaring heights. And their music belongs to this moment, the heady notes captivating all who hear. Sleeping hearts awake and sing a melody of love and adoration, caught up in the strands of the sweet extraordinary lament of two pieces who are ordinary without the other. The sound of these two, using each other to sing, turns hearts and souls toward the sun’s light beamed down by the moon. The stars lean in to hear the angelic strains played from earth, and the angels close their eyes and absorb the majesty of the song as they mingle on earth- unseen but yet perceived. . Their hands and hearts invisibly guide each stroke of the bow upon the strings of the violin as the bow-bearer incites the song to take flight across the gentle winds, reaching far away.
The bow has been with other violins before, each one different and with a different sound. Now it revels at the excitement of dancing with her, this violin, in the dappled moonlight; and for a moment these two parts create a symphony unto the very heavens, singing a song of prayer that the night will never end. Wispy clouds float by, flirting with the moon while the stars giggle quietly.
The moon smiles down at the concert of hearts and souls lifted in song, and time stands still. But alas, all things come to an end and the song ends as the violin is gently nestled in the padded case, built to lovingly caress her curves that give her a unique sound. The bow is carefully placed next to her in its own little holders, and they will be together but separated. Their strings silenced, the tension remains for their next dance.
Will it be under the moonlight again? Where a symphony of light and shadows creates a kaleidoscope of feelings when the two parts are reunited in song…There’s something about a violin singing that can erupt hearts and souls in spontaneous combustion, the flames licking at their very spirits in the heady, swirling twirling intoxication. The sweet sound of strings.
