This sure wasn’t in my plan,
but yet here I stand,
feeling like the opposite of a baby grand,
for a sign or clue I’d delight to demand.
It’s a chess game,
that is everything but tame,
but it’s all the same,
I trust it won’t break life’s aim.
I am a bullet in a China shop,
speeding to expectations - S-t-o-p,
hoping to be in shape that is tiptop,
but another mess calls for the missing mop.
River calls again for another rope swing,
as in the distance kid’s noises ring,
away, away worries and I fling,
and for a moment, so does my heart sing.

If Plan D is this poetic, I’m curious—what happened to Plans A, B, and C? 🤔
Great use of rhyme!! Flowed well and such a sincere sentiment at its core
I love this surrealism - and the rope swing. Beautiful
