Plain old oyster from the sea,

Humble creature, yet so key.

In shells they hide their precious meat,

A delicacy hard to beat.

From rocky shores to ocean beds,

Oysters thrive where currents tread.

They filter water with great care,

And pearls are born when troubles dare.

Some say they're slimy, others not,

But once you taste them, you'll be caught.

A dash of lemon, hot sauce too,

Oh plain old oyster, how we love you.

So let us raise a glass and cheer,

To this bivalve that's always near.

Plain old oyster, you may be,

But oh, how special you are to me.
