Pivotal Moments

Barely Felt

Lulled in tranquil warmth,

Shocked by blast of searing steam,

Bathers flee the heat.

Naked forms on fire,

Heedless of false modesty

Rush to seek relief.

To water or snow

They raptly scramble and leap

Arms and legs a-flight.

In cool immersion,

Fevered flanks and burning butts

Blissfully relieved.
