Pitter Patter

In March, I March along the sidewalk as the rain goes pitter patter

Did you take the time to smell the roses? I’m not talking about the flowers, I mean the things that really matter

Before it became too late to walk amongst each other and drown ourselves with chatter

The blue and gold clouds closely resemble my aura as the rain continues to splatter

Marching past April, May, and June with the sun and the moon

Daydreams turn into naps that creep past lunch and into afternoon

Promising each other that we still love each other and that we’ll see each other soon

Watching people from a distance and revisiting the playlists with your favourite tunes

Don’t worry so much about things as such,

I know I can’t hold you but our hearts will always touch

Let the rain wash our pain

Don’t let the rain make you insane

Just breathe and keep notes of the sweet Little Things inside your brain

Because one day when the raindrops stop, you’ll remember to smell the roses

You’ll get dressed and wear your favourite top, and take pictures with your friends in your favourite poses

Hold on to every moment
