Pink and yellow headbands, contrast her dark brown hair

Her eyes reflect the greatest mountains, her skin was pale and fair

Her laugh was bright and golden, her smile warm and kind

Her favorite color is purple, orange butterflies she tries to find

As she got older, her laugh began to fade

No longer bright and golden, it became hollow and gray

Kids can be so cruel, adults can be the same

All she wanted was acceptance, all they gave her was sorrow and pain

“You have too many colors”, is what they used to say

“You’re honestly quite ugly, so please just go away”

She came so close to giving up, the sadness disguised as a friend

Yet one morning as the sun began to rise, she decided this wasn’t the end

“I know I’m like a rainbow, to others I seem strange, but this is what makes me Me, so I’ll never change”

It took some time to find herself, for her colors to return

But as the blue and gray faded away, her pink and yellow, orange and green

Became the most vivid colors, anyone had ever seen
