BROKEN FAMILY

In the dark days of slavery, families torn apart,

Bound by chains of oppression, with heavy hearts.

Separated by cruelty, by greed and by force,

Broken families scattered, on a tragic course.

Mothers torn from children, fathers from wives,

Their cries of anguish echo through their lives.

Sold on auction blocks, like property to own,

Their bonds of love shattered, their spirits overthrown.

Children left behind, with no one to hold,

Their innocence stolen, their stories untold.

Husbands and wives, torn from each other's embrace,

Their love and their longing, a cruel disgrace.

In the shadowed corners of history's domain,

Lies the pain of broken families, the legacy of pain.

Their resilience and strength, a testament true,

In the face of adversity, they still broke through.

For though their families were shattered, their spirits remained,

Their love and their courage, forever unchained.

And in their struggle, we find the light,

A beacon of hope, shining bright in the night.

So let us remember the broken families,

And honor their memory forevermore.

For in their pain and suffering, we find the key, where all families are whole and free
