Pieces of Me

For you, wherever you may be.

By Waverleigh Rose GarlingtonPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

A dozen holes in my ears

Another piercing above my lips

Memories of a friend I'll never see again

Shelves of books I just can't part with from my youth

Frayed hair, distorted and gone

A fetus free belly to my misfortune

Markings on my hands determine I've got less time now

Thin scars up and down my wrists

A spur of the moment ink tattoo

No longer am I kid, can't you see?

Oh but how I miss it

Time is running out for me...

There's a smell in the air I hope it is change

This patch of life is for the birds.

See, I'm twenty five

With not a single thing to show for it.

I barely feel alive.
