Somehow, I hear your voice in the words of your letter

Shaking as you write 'I don't know how to make it better'

I can feel the rain on me as you walk away forever

But outside the sun is shining on the Earth, perfect weather

I see your smile when I close my eyes, when I open them I'm blind

because I can't stand to look at you while you're leaving me behind

I breathe deep to go to sleep, the smell of you still on my sheets

toasted coconut is bittersweet but it's all you left for me to keep

The words I said to you last taste like poison on my tongue

I tried to swallow them but choked-- when you signed the words 'I'm done.'
