Fingers fidget and dance on keys tonight,
it all feels so very real and right.
I crave a normal life but it’s a bit scary,
yes, very…
I want to be more like middle C,
but I’m somewhere down to the left, you see.
At my black and white face, they gaze at me,
and probably just see,
just a shattered family that I tried to start,
or they think that I put the horse before the cart.
I’ll always make the best
of whatever crumb I have to rest,
on my fingertips,
because, for me, perspective equips.
You see, if I have a crumb of bread,
I realize I’m still alive and not dead,
and I become as a mouse who sees it as a splendid feast to be shared!
Yes, shared, as I skip on the lovely keys of piano sweet,
this plinking sound is my rousing treat!

I love everything about this piece. Every line is one I did not expect. They are all original. The inspiring layer in this poem is so strong, I love the imagery of the mouse who sees the crumbs as a splendid feast. I love how you sort of, became the piano, with the black and white face.
