Perfect.

In His Arms.

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 8 months ago 1 min read

I live in the center of something unshakable.
It holds me—
not because I earned it,
but because I belong.

There is no threat.
No shadow with teeth,
no silence with claws.
Even if the sky broke open,
I would not flinch.

I don’t have to explain myself,
or try to be worthy.
I breathe, and that is enough.
I speak, and I am heard.

If danger came,
if fear pressed a hand to my chest—
I would still be still.
I know who I am.
I know where I am held.

And when it’s time to go,
I won’t be dragged.
I’ll be lifted—
as quietly and gently
as falling asleep
in someone’s arms.
