Perennial

We All Will Meet Our Autumn

By Joseph SeveroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

“What if I really was wrong all along?

What if I was worthy of each doubt

- both my own and those without?

Maybe I’ve never had it in me;

Or, what if I had it figured out? I’m potentially en route;

That’s what I know - this here’s what I believe:

Each leaf can leap off their rooted tree, but some become more colorful

- seasoned - it is in the breeze they breathe;

We all age - We all will meet our Autumn;

Ask the petals what the weather would have taught ‘em had they not jumped - escaped;

They could only speculate - they flaked - to make it in the pile beside the rake;

But, I’ve learned you can hold tight - firmly get a grip on life;

You could branch away from strife and grow how you would like;

Check the trunk - the owl’s hole;

What’s within’s enough - how powerful?

Purpose stems from drives; Nurture them - survive;

Abide - Laws of Nature override, dismantle bramble;

Don’t cast stones or pick up sticks - no, not a handful;

Plan to plant - implant the positivity;

Can’t supplant with scant-ass negativity;

Steadfast breach - surpass the canopy;

Bird’s eye view: Earned the proof; Worth is proved - Discern the truth:

The forest is as deep as dense and ordered

- no fixed borders - it’s immense;

Potential manifests - impressive;

Affect the growth rate - exponential;

Endure, persist through seasonal stages;

This protean role, it is perennial.”
