Pepperoni, Cheddar Cheese, And Ritz Crackers
My Favorite Childhood Snack
One slice of meaty pepperoni,
And one slice of creamy cheddar cheese,
Between two crunchy and salty Ritz crackers.

Like a savory Oreo,
Only you can’t buy it preassembled.
***
No clue how I came to love this combo,
But my first memories of it were at a Girl Scout day camp I attended in the summer.
***
It was during snack time, of course.
We sat on the ground,
Enjoying the food our moms prepared for us.
***
I had the tastiest snack of all,
And even shared with a couple of girls,
Who enjoyed it greatly.
***
It always circles back to childhood,
Those foods we love or hate,
Doesn’t it?
***
As I write this,
I can’t help but crave this nostalgic treat.
Maybe someday I’ll once again indulge.

The Antique Shop Dreams
As midnight approaches, a solitary lamppost flickers to life, illuminating the cobblestone street. An antique shop appears, squeezed between a cobbler and a bakery, the wooden sign swaying on creaky hinges. A warm light radiates from the inside of the store.

Where's the Glory?
In breaking news, rehabilitated Republican Senator Johnnie Johnson (Pronouns: HE, HIM, HIS) called a press conference from the Men’s room of the New Orleans Louis Armstrong International Airport, Concourse B, across from the Ignatius Reilly’s Lucky Dog stand. The Senator had just returned from a sexual reorientation rehabilitation program in Memphis, TN after being publically disgraced at a Buckee’s Truckstop restroom soliciting sex from an undercover cop three months ago. He is a founding member of the Reformed Christians for Christ, a conservative, pro-family and ex-gay advocacy group. In the spirit of being reborn, Senator Johnson invited reporters to marvel at his plans for a major remodeling of airport bathrooms.

My husband loves Ritz and eats them with ice cream! I love them with cheese or with PB&J. Partake again, enjoy them!!
